PORTRAITS
TAYLOR
I focused my theme for this shoot around gender and gender presentation. I brought my own feminine clothing, makeup, and accessories, and chose to place it on top of the model's more masculine outfit. I also chose to shoot in the morning light because it gave a soft light and warmness to the photos that represented the femininity I wanted to encompass. Femininity is often rejected for its qualities of softness and warmth even though these qualities are what make femininity more malleable to the male world we've built. This too, is often taken away from queer and trans men, as their acceptance in their sexuality or in their maleness is reliant on their alienation from femininity. Thank you to my model, Taylor (he/him/his) for his adaptability and kindness during this shoot.
